Forced Conversion of 10-Member Hindu Family by Islamic Organization Members in Dinajpur

Members of an Islamist group have reportedly forced the conversion of a Hindu family of 10, including young children, to Islam in Dinajpur district.

On the evening of September 12, 2024, during an "Islamic Jalsa" in the Bhadduria area, Maulana Amir Hamza led the conversion of 10 Hindu minority members to Islam.

The names of the Hindu family members forced into conversion are listed below, with their new Muslim names in parentheses:

  • Smt. Ajitan Das (75, Amicha Bibi)
  • Mr. Kundal Das (50, Hazrat Ali)
  • Smt. Felani Das (45, Fatema Khatun)
  • Rupam Kumar Das (32, Hasan Mahmud)
  • Mr. Agun Das (20, Mohammad Abir Hossain)
  • Miss Bristi Das (15, Faria Jannat)
  • Smt. Tupi Rani Das (27, Jamila Khatun)
  • Mr. Joy Das (10, Mohammad Junaid)
  • Miss Joya Das (7, Mosammat Hasna Hena)
  • Miss Jyoti Das (6, Mosammat Humayra)

In a video, Maulana Amir Hamza can be seen converting a minor Hindu boy (Mr. Joy Das) in front of a crowd of Muslims.
